September 23...Garden is still bursting with color and flowers galore.

Drop by to pick bunches of Gomphrena, Ageratum, Mint, Basil, Yarrow, Lemon Balm, Cock's Comb and Nigella, for drying. Please cut and take home our Sunflower heads for bird seed or for your outdoor fall and winter wreaths.
We have an abundance of sunflower heads. There's a patch of Chinese Lanterns down near the Mint patch.....not ready, but there are green lanterns now, if you peek among the green foliage.
These lanterns will turn bright orange in a few weeks. I'm keeping my eye on them. So exciting.
Pick Zinnias, Cosmos, Ageratum, Black Eyed Susans, Echinacea, Colorado Yarrow, Black Night, Gomphrena, Lisianthus, Dahlias, Rosemary, Mint, Salvia, for the table, for friends, for your loved ones, for yourself, for co-workers, for gifts, for your bedside table, for the coffee table, for a party, for shut ins, etc.
This garden is fairly magical. I think it's in a perfect spot, perfect soil, perfect everything. It's a happy place. A really beautiful destination. Come and pick......and then come back next year when the garden will grace this hillside again, just as brilliantly. Thank you for your patronage this summer. We could not be happier with the results. It's been a literal dream come true for us all.

Farewell to the Glorious Choir of Sunflower Songsters! We're going to have lots of wonderful bird seed!

The season is turning weather-wise, and you can see it in the garden. The Bachelor's Buttons had to be taken out after a fabulous showing mid July through August. The Asters have seen their day too... White Dill went by as well.....Now we have Zinnias galore, Salvia, Black Eyed Susans, White and Pink Lisianthus, Gomphrena, Gomphrena, Gomphrena (great for drying!),
Dahlias, Strawflower, Mint, Yarrow, Nigella, Basil, Sage, Echinacea, Chinese Lanterns (not ready quite yet).......still a vast array of flowers......But the season is turning, so come by in the next week or two for the last of the true bounty!!! What a fantastic summer of flowers it's been! Tons of flowers, tons of customers, and the Free Will Donation System has worked like a charm. Thank you to all the many many repeat customers!!! And thank you for the kind words in the ledger book! We are already looking ahead to The Song Garden 2010!!! Now it's time to cut flowers for drying and to get making fall wreaths pretty soon!!!

Sarah's Photos yesterday!

Song Garden Bounty Today, Sept. 1st, 2009

The garden is still going strong! Such a sight to drive up St. Gauden's Road and then turn left where it intersects with Dingleton Hill Road and to see the garden up in the distance with it's glowing yellow Black Eyed Susans and it's incredible rows of Sunflowers. The garden at sunset is heavenly. Tonight was a doozy. As I left the garden this evening, after a glowing orange sunset, the best one of the summer, in my opinion, there was the almost full moon coming up over the pine trees. I almost had to gasp, it was like living in a painting.
