Hello Song Garden friends!
Our 11th year is now upon us and we are dashing around this week getting things ready for our
Monday, July 1st opening.
The Tea House will be ready with iced tea, lemonade, biscotti, cookies, Italian Ice, along with
coffee and tea!
The grounds will be beautiful and very peaceful for your visit.
Please note that the flowers will NOT be in bloom yet, as our gardens are mostly filled with annuals, which bloom mid July through mid October....We plant approximately 15,000 seedlings from end of May until literally this week! The plants are babies on opening day, which is always the case each July 1st. It's natural to remember The Song Garden of September and expect to see the garden abundant with blooms on opening day....but it's only just been planted.....so please do come to The Song Garden to see the farm in progress, to relax with tea and a book, or with a friend for a good conversation....It's a lovely place to spend a summer's morning.....or afternoon. As time progresses, the flowers will start to bloom mid July....Patience is a virtue.
See you soon!

Memorial Day at The Song Garden! Still too soggy to plant the 'Upper Garden', so we will wait another week for that work...in the meantime, we've planted the raised beds with herbs and edibles, and we've planted two other gardens on the property. We have lots of work ahead of us to get all the gardens planted, but we got a very good start this weekend. Now it's raining so we will let Mother Nature give the babies a good soaking. We open on July 1st. Our flowers do not really begin to pop until mid to late July. Stay tuned!

Still got a while to go before we can bring you your beautiful summer gardens....The great news is that the first round of seeds have been started and are under grow lights as I type. Many more rounds of seeding will continue until mid April....in our greenhouse....then we will transplant into cell packs and nurture the thousands of seedlings (10,000, approximately) and will plant them out in the gardens in mid to late May. We also have a cold cellar with hundreds of Dahlia tubers waiting to come out of their long winter's nap....We are working hard to bring another summer full of flowers, herbs, tea, and relaxation to your lives. Thanks for being the best supporters a little pick your own flower garden and mini tea house operation could ever wish for!
